Property Development

We have one of the strongest covenants in the marketplace and a strong track record of working in partnership with agents, developers and landlords to open new stores. We are actively pursuing new sites to expand our store portfolio across the UK and will consider all types of properties and locations.

Our requirements

We are flexible on size as long as the location is right, but as a guide:

  • Visible and accessible
  • 1,500 - 9,500 sq ft gross
  • Backup and sales can be split over two floors
  • Minimum of 2,000 sq ft at ground floor
  • Parking not essential
  • Leasehold or Freehold

All types of properties/land considered:

  • Existing business units
  • New and mixed use developments
  • Pub conversions
  • Redevelopments
  • PFS site
  • Greenfield locations

All types of locations are considered:

  • On prime pitch/strong adjacencies
  • Busy urban high streets
  • Neighbourhood or local centres with good residential catchments
  • Emerging housing developments
  • Main roads
  • Outward facing shopping centres
  • Close to transport hubs

Concessions

We are proud of the concession relationships we have in Sainsbury’s and are always looking for new regional or national partners to add to this portfolio, helping to broaden our customer offer within our stores. We can create concessions or “store in stores” within our estate ranging from 100-3,000 sq. ft and would love to speak with new parties who can work with us on this. Estates

What makes us different from most other retailers in the UK is the diversity of property within our estate. From supermarkets to residential, mixed use schemes to offices and depots – our Estates team are responsible for one of the largest property portfolios in the UK.
