Good food for everyone

Your weekly shop matters. It's where value, quality and everyday choices come together for millions of households. At Sainsbury's, we believe everyone should be able to enjoy great food, combining great value with the quality we're known for, from everyday essentials to the products that bring a little extra joy.

What does good food for everyone mean to us at Sainsbury's?

Helping customers get great value and great quality is what we work on every single day. For us, good value has never been just about the price on the shelf. It is good food people can trust, at prices that work for different budgets – delivered through lower prices, personalised savings, trusted quality, and long-term partnerships with the farmers and suppliers who help make it possible.

How does Sainsbury’s deliver great value?

We work hard to make good food affordable, so customers do not have to choose between value and quality. Across everyday essentials, fresh food, family favourites and little treats, there are lots of ways to save on the products people buy most:

c. £1.3 billion

invested in keeping prices low over the past five years since 2021

Around £450 a year

saved by households using Nectar Prices and Your Nectar Prices

Around 11,000 products

on Nectar Prices each week

Uniform prices from just £3

For the fourth year running we’ve locked our Tu school uniform prices– so back-to-school doesn’t have to mean price rises.

Can quality food be affordable?

Sainsbury’s has been delivering great quality food for more than 150 years. Today, that means helping customers eat well, spend less and enjoy balanced choices across our ranges. Good value and good quality should go together – and that is what customers can expect from Sainsbury’s:

  • At least 75% of Aldi Price Match products are Healthier or Better for You choices

  • 17% more Aldi Price Match across fresh produce, meat, fish and poultry year on year

  • 69% of customers buy Aldi Price Match and Taste the Difference in the same trolley - value and quality together

So customers can fill their trolley with good food they feel confident about, while still keeping an eye on their budget.

Where does your food come from and how do you support British farmers?

Real value starts long before food reaches the checkout. It starts with the farmers, growers and suppliers who help put great quality food on our shelves. Our long-term relationships with British and Irish farmers give them more confidence to plan and invest, while helping us deliver trusted quality and better value for customers.

  • £5 billion+ committed through long-term farming agreements, expected to support more than 2,500 British and Irish farms by 2027

  • 60% of defined key own-brand produce, meat, fish, dairy and poultry sourced through long-term agreements

  • £9 million invested to support 150 dairy farms, plus 62 British berry farms in expanded partnerships

What does Sainsbury's do for local communities?

Good food for everyone also means being part of the communities we serve. Through our stores, colleagues, food donation partnerships and breakfast clubs, Sainsbury’s helps create jobs, support families and make good food go further:

And as a publicly listed business, our success also benefits millions of ordinary savers and pensioners.

So what does it all add up to?

It all adds up to one simple promise: great value and great quality food, every day. By investing in lower prices, rewarding customers through Nectar, backing British and Irish farmers, supporting colleagues and helping communities, Sainsbury’s keeps good food within reach for more people. That is what good food for everyone means.
