Healthy Start Vouchers

We believe good food should be joyful, accessible and affordable for everyone, every day.

That’s why we’re trialling a new offer for eligible Healthy Start customers. Those who qualify can receive a £3 Sainsbury’s eGift Card each week for up to six weeks, helping make fruit, vegetables, beans and pulses more affordable.

Here, you can find out who is eligible, how to register and how the offer works.

About Healthy Start

Healthy Start is an NHS scheme that helps eligible families and pregnant women with the cost of healthy food and milk.

Customers receive a prepaid Healthy Start Mastercard, which can be used to buy eligible products including milk, fruit, vegetables, pulses and infant formula.

About the Sainsbury’s offer

We have previously supported Healthy Start customers with a £2 top-up voucher for fruit and vegetables. Following the move from paper vouchers to a prepaid Mastercard, we have been exploring a new way to provide this support.

We’re now trialling a £3 Sainsbury’s eGift Card for eligible Healthy Start customers.

Customers who qualify can receive one eGift Card each week for up to six weeks, helping with the cost of fruit, vegetables, beans and pulses.

Please check that your details are correct before submitting the form. If any information is inaccurate, we may not be able to confirm your eligibility or send your eGift Card.

We will use the details you provide to confirm whether you used your Healthy Start Mastercard and Nectar card in the same Sainsbury’s transaction between 20 October 2025 and 20 October 2026.

We need to use previous transaction data to confirm eligibility because this is a trial.

Your information will only be used to check your eligibility, manage the offer, send your eGift Card and evaluate the campaign.

For this first trial, we can only include Healthy Start customers who used their Healthy Start Mastercard and Nectar card in the same Sainsbury’s transaction during the qualifying period.

We know this means some Healthy Start customers will not be able to take part. We will use what we learn from the trial to explore how we can make this support available to more customers in the future.

If you are eligible, we will send your £3 Sainsbury’s eGift Card to the email address used to register. Please check that your email address is correct and look in your junk or spam folder if the email does not arrive in your inbox.

Eligible customers can receive a £3 Sainsbury’s eGift Card each week for up to six weeks, worth up to £18 in total. The first eGift Card will be issued on 18 November 2026. You will need to use each eGift Card within seven days to receive another one the following week. The final eGift Cards will be issued by 23 December 2026.

The £3 Sainsbury’s eGift Card is designed to help with the cost of fruit, vegetables, beans and pulses.

It can be used on eligible fresh, frozen, tinned and dried products.

It cannot be used on potatoes, yams, plantain, cassava, baked beans, coconut, fruit juice, smoothies, dressed salads or products with added sugar or several non-vegetable ingredients, such as cauliflower cheese, breaded mushrooms or vegetable burgers.
